Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response attempts to address the prompt regarding whether too much time is spent on learning facts rather than practical skills in education. The writer takes a clear position by stating that they fully agree with this view. However, the development of ideas is limited and at times quite unclear due to expression issues. For instance, statements about children growing up and feeling jealous of other students are somewhat tangential to the core debate of facts versus practical skills in education. The ideas are repetitive and lack deep elaboration, meaning the task is only partially addressed. While a position is presented, the arguments fail to systematically explore both sides or provide well-supported examples from the writer's own experience. Consequently, this performance aligns most closely with the Band 4 descriptor.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The organization of the essay suffers from a lack of clear overall progression. Although the text is divided into four paragraphs, the logical links between sentences and paragraphs are frequently faulty or confusing. Transition phrases are either absent or inappropriately used, such as 'Because of its totally true' and 'On the other hand some people...'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal cohesion of the body paragraphs is weak, making it difficult for the reader to follow the train of thought. Repetition of ideas further disrupts the flow. Pronoun referencing is often unclear (e.g., 'how can survive their' and 'how to make them'), which obscures the connections between ideas. These features reflect the characteristics of a Band 4 performance.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used throughout the response is basic and repetitive, with frequent spelling and word-choice errors that frequently strain the reader's comprehension. Examples of inaccurate lexical choices include 'educational study', 'fill jelous' (feel jealous), 'knoldge' (knowledge), 'exprience' (experience), and 'greadution' (graduation). The range of vocabulary is very limited and insufficient to convey precise meanings or abstract concepts effectively. While the writer attempts to use terms related to education, frequent misspellings and inappropriate word forms prevent successful communication of more complex ideas. These persistent lexical limitations place the response firmly at Band 4.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

Grammatical control is extremely weak throughout the response. There is a very limited range of structures, and almost every sentence contains severe errors in grammar, punctuation, and syntax. Examples include 'most of the people are spent their time', 'they not focus enough practical learning', 'their brain are working just limitation', and 'every people should on focus their aall levels education'. Complex sentence structures are attempted, but they are consistently faulty and often distort the intended meaning. Frequent structural errors and poor punctuation make reading difficult and require the reader to decode the sentences repeatedly. This level of grammatical accuracy and range corresponds to a Band 4 score.
