Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is agrued that the journey of education, from primary schools to universities, practical knowledge is not getting enough time because they want students to spend much time to learn theroetical part. I largly agree with this statement, practical learning not only helps in professional career but also it is significantly vital to manage personal life. Although theroetical knowledge should remain an important foundadtion.

To begin with, most educational insititudes wants their scholars to memorize everything as a part of their curriculum because they have to advertise their succes to attract newcomers. Although this approach may improve their academic knowledge, it does not help them to prepare for real-world situations. For example, student may spend an important part of their life to memorize every thing from books but they does not focus on real skills such as problem-solving, communication, and financial management. Consequently, some graduate required considerable traning before entering the workforce.

Furthermore, practical knowledge can be beneficial for the personal growth. To explain it, there are some skills such as financial knowledge, good communication, and problem-solving skill, with these knowledge, student may manage their life in a ideal way. For instance, when educational hubs teach their student about finance, they more likely to start investing from early age, or even, it may assist them to take decission accordingely. Therefore, practical learning is beneficial for both personal and professional life, it may help them to find a stable career and make their day-to-day time for convienent.

In conculsion, theroretical learning still an important part to make a proper base or a deep research about things. However, educationl institudes should focus on both parts of studies in a proper way to provide the maximum benefits for students.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The student addresses all parts of the task and presents a clear position throughout, stating that they largely agree that too much time is spent on theoretical facts rather than practical skills. The ideas are extended and supported, with relevant examples provided regarding professional preparation and personal life growth, such as financial management and communication. However, some arguments exhibit a tendency to over-generalise and are occasionally under-developed, particularly in the conclusion and introduction where phrasing is slightly repetitive. The response meets the minimum word count requirement and successfully covers both professional and personal implications of the prompt. Therefore, this performance aligns well with the Band 6.5 to Band 7.0 descriptors, ultimately earning a Band 6.5 due to minor limitations in idea extension.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is arranged coherently with a clear overall progression. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, separating the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion distinctly. The writer attempts to use cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion' to signal logical sequencing. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the opening sentence where 'practical knowledge is not getting enough time' lacks a clear subject anchor. Additionally, there are structural awkwardness issues in transitional phrases. Consequently, the organization and cohesion fit comfortably within the Band 6 descriptor criteria.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student displays an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common lexical items such as 'curriculum', 'workforce', and 'professional career'. However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'agrued', 'theroetical', 'largly', 'insititudes', 'succes', 'convienent', and 'conculsion'. While these errors do not severely impede communication because the reader can easily deduce the intended meaning, their high frequency prevents the score from reaching a higher band. The vocabulary is minimally adequate and attempts complex lexical phrasing with noticeable inaccuracy, leading to a Band 5.5 score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordination and relative clauses, such as in 'when educational hubs teach their student about finance, they more likely to start investing'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('student may spend... but they does not focus', 'some graduate required'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing. Punctuation errors also occur, such as comma splices linking independent clauses. Although communication is rarely completely blocked, the frequency of grammatical inaccuracies pulls the performance down into the Band 5.5 range, as complex sentences are frequently faulty.
