IELTS Writing Task 2 question

Some people say that in all levels of education, from primary schools to universities, too much time is spent on learning facts and not enough on learning practical skills.

Do you agree or disagree?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

 

Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowdays, some people belive that educational institutions spend too much time on teaching facts and enough time for developing practical skills. So i am agree with this statement because practical skills are very important for the students in their personal and professional lives.

Firstly, learning facts is very important for the basic knowledge to the understand the different subject. However, books infomation does not prepare the students for real life situations. For example, every students learn many subject in the school and collage but some subject does not work the real situations.

On the other hand, practical skills is very important for the students because if they have any type of skill it can help students become more confident and independent in their future. More over , university students could be given the difrent type of project, assigment for the presentation as well as they can share their exprince.

In conclusion, i am agree too much enphasis can sometime be placed on memorising facts. Universty make balance between the

However, the overall progression is disrupted by the abrupt ending in the final paragraph. Cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or inaccurate, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'every students learn many subject'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the final paragraph is a fragmented sentence rather than a fully formed conclusion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The lexical resource is limited and displays frequent errors in word choice, spelling, and collocation. Examples include 'Nowdays' instead of nowadays, 'belive' instead of believe, 'infomation' instead of information, and 'difrent' instead of different. The student attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'independent' and 'professional lives', but spelling mistakes like 'enphasis' and 'Universty' detract from the quality and demonstrate a limited control of word formation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The student uses a mix of simple and basic complex sentence forms, but grammatical control is weak.
