Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum length requirement of 250 words, containing only 149 words and stopping abruptly with an unfinished second body paragraph ("Moving further,"). While the writer attempts to introduce a clear position stating disagreement with the given statement, the severe under-length prevents any meaningful development or extension of ideas. According to the official band descriptors, when a response is significantly under-length and incomplete, it cannot fully address all parts of the task or develop ideas adequately, resulting in a low task achievement score. To improve, the student must ensure they complete both body paragraphs and meet the 250-word minimum.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay displays some basic attempts at logical organization through transitional phrases such as "To commence with" and "first and foremost reason". However, the overall progression is severely disrupted by the abrupt ending of the text at "Moving further,". Paragraphing is attempted, but the second paragraph remains incomplete, and the lack of a concluding paragraph hinders overall coherence. Cohesive devices are used in a somewhat mechanical fashion, such as "Moreover" and "Furthermore-like" transitions. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase "achieve any thing in their life". Due to the unfinished nature of the text, it cannot demonstrate fully managed logical sequencing.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student attempts to use some less common vocabulary, such as "abundant time", "consistency", and "practical knowledge", but these are frequently marred by awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as "learning facts are more imoprtant" and "why I am disagree". There are also spelling errors like "imoprtant" and "upcomping". The range of vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive, which reflects a Band 5 profile where noticeable errors in word choice and spelling cause some difficulty for the reader and demonstrate a minimally adequate range for the task.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as relative clauses and conditional ideas, but these attempts are frequently flawed by grammatical inaccuracies. Examples include "why learning practical skills are more important than time is spent on learning facts is get more knowledge" and "learn better and different way to achieve any thing". Subject-verb agreement errors are present, such as "learning practical skills are". Punctuation is generally basic. Because the majority of complex structures contain errors that impede smooth reading and meaning, the performance aligns with the Band 5 descriptors.
