Student answer (Band 5.5)
According to few individuals, the time spent on learning facts is more than time spent on practical skills in all level of education from starting of schools to universities or colleges. I totally disagree with this statement , I am going to explain my points in upcoming paragraphs.
I firmly believe that education system is way far better than people think as teachers in school organise different kind of activities for students so they can easily learn things by not taking too much stress as they students also like to do new activities. For instance, when I was in a school, one of my teacher explaining us about different kind of yogas from book and we were not paying attention, then he took all of us to ground and started doing each kind of yoga. After that, we were also started performing yoga as we got too much engaged in that activity.
Moreover, universities also teach lot of things practically to their students as well as the teachers at the universities are more creative nowadays. Because students got easily frustrated by doing same learning things everyday so teachers focus more on practical things. To illustrate, my sister studying in a university told me that there are practical rooms for each subject so that students can learn practically as well as there are different kind of yoga rooms, dancing rooms, musical instruments room and many more for the benefit of scholars.
In concusion, schools and universties teach their students practical skills more than forcing them to just learn facts. So, in my opinion scholars also growing more by learning practical skills rather than only focusing on learning facts.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The candidate addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position of total disagreement with the statement that too much time is spent on learning facts rather than practical skills. The position is maintained throughout the response. Relevant ideas are presented, such as the use of interactive activities in schools and practical facilities in universities, and supported with personal examples and anecdotes. However, the development of ideas tends to be a bit repetitive and relies heavily on broad generalisations rather than deeper analysis of educational curricula. While all parts of the task are addressed, the support is somewhat limited in scope, placing this performance solidly at Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay is organised into four paragraphs with a clear introduction and conclusion. There is an overall logical progression, moving from school-level education to university-level education. Cohesive devices are used to connect ideas, such as "Moreover" and "To illustrate", although some transitions are a bit mechanical or used repetitively. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct main ideas. Referencing is generally clear, though occasional minor slip-ups occur. Overall, the organisation meets the requirements for a Band 6.0, showing a coherent overall arrangement despite some flaws in cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating everyday educational concepts. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as "frustrated" and "creativity", but these are accompanied by word choice and collocation errors, such as "learning things everyday" instead of "rote learning" or "memorising facts". Spelling is generally accurate, but limitations in lexical range and precision prevent the response from reaching a higher band. The vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the intended meaning, fitting the descriptor for Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though complex structures often contain errors. For instance, the opening sentence contains a prepositional and article error ("According to few individuals, the time spent... in all level of education"), and there are run-on sentences and comma splices, such as "I totally disagree with this statement , I am going to explain..." and "...we were not paying attention, then he took...". Errors in verb tenses and auxiliary verbs also occur (e.g., "one of my teacher explaining us" and "we were also started performing"). These errors can cause occasional reader friction, but communication is rarely impeded, placing the grammar at a Band 5.0.
