Student answer (Band 5.0)
Education at all levels, From primary schools to universities from all over the world. Schools and universities utilised their time in theoretical based knowledge insted of gating practical knowledge. From my point of view practical knowledge is more suffecient for students to earn knowledge.
Overall, On the one hand, Their are so many disadvanatges for gaining learning facts like learning theoretical knowledge rather than practical knowledge. Now a days so many schools and universities used to change their schedule like add more practical knowledge skills so students get know about that. For example I am a civil engineer student and I have to learned about structure, surveying and reading drawings of buldings. so these subjects need practical knowledge rather than learning facts.
On the other hand, learning facts are also important for doing practical. many schools and universities faculty are have so many exprienced teachers so this is also a biggest reason for that because old education system consists of maximum facts learning. so that is why many schools and universities follow these pattern for all the students. For example in the aligarh muslim university all the faculty like assistant professor, associate professer and professer are more than 50 years old. So they gain facts learing from these days so now they are more comfortable in facts learning more than practical knowledge.
In conclusion all schools and universities needs practical knowledge instead facts learning because facts are so boaring to learn but if they all doing practical of that so they stored in their mind. so from my perspective all schools and universities needs practical skills rather than learning facts.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position that educational institutions should focus more on practical skills rather than learning facts. However, the development of ideas is limited and at times repetitive. While the writer attempts to support the argument using personal experience as a civil engineering student and mentioning an institution like Aligarh Muslim University, these examples are somewhat under-developed and lack extension. The position is presented, but the overall exploration of the topic remains partial, leaning on general assertions rather than fully elaborated arguments. To reach a higher band, the writer needs to present fully extended ideas with well-supported explanations and more robust examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays some organizational structure, utilizing standard introductory, body, and concluding paragraphs, and attempts transitional markers such as "On the one hand," "On the other hand," and "In conclusion." However, there is a lack of clear overall progression, and the logical flow between sentences and paragraphs is often disrupted by mechanical or repetitive phrasing. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or overused, and referencing between ideas can be unclear, such as abrupt shifts in the final paragraph. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion requires better linking to guide the reader smoothly through the arguments. To improve, the writer should focus on creating a seamless logical progression and using cohesive devices more naturally and accurately.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, containing noticeable errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. There are frequent issues with word choice, word form, and spelling, such as "insted" instead of instead, "gating" instead of gaining, "suffecient" instead of sufficient, "disadvanatges" instead of disadvantages, and "boaring" instead of boring. The range of vocabulary is basic, and attempts at less common lexical items often result in inappropriate collocations or incorrect forms, such as "learning facts" versus "theoretical knowledge." To achieve a higher band, the writer must expand their lexical repertoire, use words with greater precision, and eliminate spelling and word-form errors that impede clear communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The grammatical range is limited, relying mostly on simple or faulty complex structures. Frequent errors are present throughout the text, including issues with verb forms and tenses, subject-verb agreement, and articles, such as "Their are so many disadvanatges," "faculty are have," and "students get know about that." Punctuation is also problematic, with run-on sentences and improper capitalization within sentences. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently marred by structural errors that can cause difficulty and strain for the reader. To progress, the writer needs to demonstrate a greater variety of sentence structures with a higher proportion of error-free sentences and improved control over basic grammatical rules.
