Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often claimed that learning from theoretical knowledge is the key to build a strong mindset, but practical skills are more helpful when it comes to real world of finding job opportunities and saving time management by learning all the required skills at the institutes.
Clinical knowledge is highly efficient during the studies to help learners to easy transition into working sectors. To elaborate more, tutors are more focused on completing the syllabus and recieving full marks in the examinations, which create more pressure over students to brainstorm with all the information which they can memorize and learn at the schools, but when it comes to utilize those skills during working oragnizations thay are not able to compete about how to implement those rationale in trade works. For instance, IT students, work really hard to crack the exams based on bookish language , once they acheive the opportunity, they face difficult issues with competing and learning the skills for actual roles.
However, if educational institutes develop the practical skills during their leaning process, it will save the time for students, which they need for training period as a volunteer before starting any occupation. This method not only develop the confidence but also provide smooth learning process while taking care of all the obstacles they will might face during the working hours. For example- Medical professionals learn human anatomy from the books at the same time, they should have classes with hospitalized patients, to learn about their real disease management roles.
In a nutshell, acedemic growth is highly effective with both hypothetical and fact finding, it is higly recommened for the bright future of every student.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is generally clear: you argue that practical learning should receive more attention alongside theoretical study. The response addresses the education-to-work issue and supports it with relevant examples, particularly IT students who struggle to apply book knowledge and medical students who need experience with patients. These examples help explain your view. However, some points are not fully developed: the opening reference to theoretical knowledge as a way to build a “strong mindset” is not connected clearly to your main argument, and the conclusion mentions “hypothetical and fact finding” without explaining how these should be balanced. To strengthen the response, state your degree of agreement directly and develop each main reason with a clearer explanation of its consequences.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a recognisable overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting related arguments, and a concluding paragraph. Transitions such as “To elaborate more,” “However,” and “For instance” help signal examples and shifts in focus. The progression is generally understandable, but some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, the first sentence introduces theoretical knowledge and a “strong mindset,” then moves abruptly to job opportunities. Within the second body paragraph, the relationship between saving students’ time and developing confidence could be explained more explicitly. The conclusion also introduces ideas that have not been clearly established. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, and make references such as “this method” clearly identify the idea being discussed.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “theoretical knowledge,” “practical skills,” “syllabus,” “implement,” and “anatomy.” This gives the response some relevant academic language, and the examples are generally understandable. However, inaccurate word choice and collocation are noticeable and sometimes make meaning difficult to follow. Phrases such as “saving time management,” “compete about how to implement,” and “hypothetical and fact finding” do not express your intended ideas naturally. There are also spelling errors, including “recieving,” “acheive,” and “acedemic.” Build accuracy by learning common word partnerships and checking spelling; prefer precise expressions such as “manage time,” “apply knowledge in the workplace,” and “theoretical and practical learning.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “when,” “which,” and “if.” This allows you to explain causes, outcomes, and examples. However, complex sentences are often not controlled accurately, and errors sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “which create more pressure” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “they will might face” combines incompatible modal forms. In “This method not only develop … but also provide,” the verbs do not agree with the singular subject. Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention, particularly in the long sentence beginning “To elaborate more.” Practise checking subject–verb agreement, modal constructions, and sentence structure, and divide long sentences when they contain several separate ideas.
