Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the era of modern education, learning practical skills and learning facts play crucial role to gain knowlegde and experiance. However, I am completly agreed with the statement given above the all education institute force more time on learning facts rather than learning practical skills.

According to my opinion, education has been presented as more of facts than practical studies. Teaching facts are a easy way for teachers to deliver their message towards the students. However, practical studies required more equipments and deligance environment for learning. Moreover, Learning facts is also easy for learners to apply the logic in studies but practical need more foucs and time get the logic.

Further more, facts are not enough to understand the depth of the studies until its been exlpained by the practical examples. For example, backing up a trailer on dock can not be expained only by the facts. That required more of practical skills than facts. Facts can only explain us the way to do it, but ground reality and circumstances are completely different according to requirement of the place and equipment.

In the last, I would say that learning facts are important to begin learning about anything but the true knowledge can be gaind only by the practical studies. Schools, universities and all other education institutes should pay equal focus on both rather than spending more time on one.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you agree that education gives too much emphasis to facts and argue that practical learning should receive equal attention. The reasons about teachers finding facts easier to deliver and practical learning requiring equipment are relevant, and the trailer example helps illustrate why facts alone may not prepare learners for real situations. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained, particularly the claim that facts are easier for learners to apply. The conclusion also shifts slightly from arguing for more practical learning to recommending equal focus, so clarify whether you support balance or a greater share of practical study. The response is 21 words below the required minimum; develop one example or explain a reason further to meet the task requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Ideas generally progress from why facts dominate teaching to why practical experience matters, and signposts such as “Moreover,” “Further more” and “In the last” help show the stages of the argument. This coherent arrangement meets the expected level, though some linking is mechanical and a few connections are unclear. For example, “learning facts is also easy for learners to apply the logic” does not clearly connect to the following contrast with practical study. Use more precise referencing and explain the relationship between each reason and your main position. A more developed paragraph transition and consistent wording about your preferred balance would make the progression smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main argument, including “practical skills,” “facts,” “equipment,” “circumstances” and “ground reality.” There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “depth of the studies,” although some choices are inaccurate or unnatural and occasionally make the meaning harder to follow. Examples include “deligance environment,” “apply the logic” and “pay equal focus.” Spelling errors such as “knowlegde,” “experiance” and “exlpained” are noticeable. Build accuracy by learning common collocations for education and practical training, and proofread spelling and word forms. More precise vocabulary would help you express the distinction between theoretical knowledge and hands-on application without relying on repeated uses of “facts” and “practical.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “However” and a clause beginning “until.” The main ideas are usually understandable, but errors in sentence construction and grammatical forms recur. For instance, “play crucial role” needs an article, “I am completly agreed” uses an incorrect verb form, and “Teaching facts are a easy way” has problems with agreement and article use. The sentence beginning “That required more of practical skills” also has an unclear subject and verb form. Work on articles, subject–verb agreement, verb patterns and complete sentence structure. Aim to produce a few accurate complex sentences before adding more elaborate constructions, and check punctuation and capitalisation consistently.
