Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the recent years, there has been growing debate about whether the all level of education should spend more time in learning facts rather than learning practical skills. I agree with that more attention we should given to practical skills because it helpful for students in everyday life skills and jobs.
one major reason is that practical skills can prepare students for employment and future careers. This is because employers required that employees use their pactise knowlegde in the live projects. For example, when someone give interview employer ask from candidate to show their hand on skills in the technical round even they are fresher. Therefore, they understand how much strong and confident person is about their knowldege in the real situation. As a result, It helps students to prepared for employment.
Another reason is that spendng too much time on learning facts which impact their practical skills. This is due to gaining deep knowldege form books. For example, students who learns java language from textbooks and online tutorials. Therefore they face struggle using in offices and real projects. Therefore, schools and universities also provide practical knowldege on live projects which prepared students for their future career and everday life skills.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You state a clear general position in favour of practical skills and give two relevant reasons: preparation for employment and the gap between textbook learning and workplace application. The examples about technical interviews and learning Java help connect your points to the topic. However, the response addresses the issue only partially: it does not explain how factual learning should be balanced with practical learning, and the reasons are brief rather than fully developed. The opening also describes the debate as spending more time on facts, which does not accurately reflect the prompt’s concern that too much time is spent on facts. The response is 51 words below the required minimum, leaving limited space to develop your argument. Explain each reason further and add a specific example or consequence.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic paragraph structure, with an introduction followed by two body paragraphs, and the reader can identify the two main reasons. You also use signposts such as “For example” and “As a result.” However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and linking words are repetitive or mechanical: “Therefore” appears several times, including consecutively in the second body paragraph. Some connections between claims are not fully explained, so the example about Java does not lead smoothly to the recommendation about live projects. Use a clearer sequence—main point, explanation, example, and result—and vary linking expressions. A concluding paragraph that restates your position would also give the response a more complete overall progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use topic-related vocabulary such as “practical skills,” “employment,” “technical round,” and “real projects,” which makes your main subject clear. There are also attempts to express specific ideas about workplace preparation. However, the range is limited and several word choices, collocations, and spelling errors make parts difficult to understand, for example “pactise knowlegde,” “hand on skills,” and “deep knowldege form books.” Phrases such as “everyday life skills” and “live projects” are also imprecise in context. Aim to learn accurate word partnerships and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “practical experience,” “hands-on skills,” and “workplace projects” would help communicate your ideas more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and longer explanations, including a reason clause beginning “This is because” and examples introduced with “For example.” However, the range remains limited, and errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, and articles occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For instance, “I agree with that more attention we should given” has an incomplete structure and incorrect verb form, while “students who learns” has a subject–verb agreement error. “When someone give interview employer ask” also needs clearer sentence structure and articles. Practise building accurate sentences with a subject and finite verb, and check agreement and verb forms before adding more complex clauses.
