Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argued that the most of the education should consist on practical, rather than theory in all level of education institude from top to bottom. Theoritical facts can clear minds of every student if they completely focus on learning, and practical side of education can help them to understand the methods and techniques involving in any subject.

Nowadays, schools and universities are only focusing on learning facts but sometimes it is very difficult to remember all the information. Because of this students only memorize the context for passing the exams but they don't understand the topics. Education will help the individuals in their future, when they understand it not just memorizing. Professors need to build new programs and educational activities for students to increase their interest.

Educational institutes should improve their way of teaching by adding more practicals rather then theories. It will help students to take studies serious and it will increase the interest in them. Any work students doing is more effective than memorizing. Therefore, it can not increase the productivity of them. The institutes enhance the productive side from 1st grade till university. Students can easily forget the memorized words but they cannot forget the experiments they doing by their own.

In conclusion, all the educational departments need to change their methods of teaching, because the youth is not productive then any country would not succeed. The government should encourage public to gain knowledge by giving them free education. If the people of any country are productive, the economy can automatically boost.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You take a generally clear position in favour of giving practical learning more emphasis, and you explain relevant concerns: students may memorise material to pass exams without understanding it, while experiments can be more memorable. These points address the topic, but the response only partly develops the argument. For example, “Any work students doing is more effective than memorizing” is asserted without explaining what kinds of practical work help or why. The opening also says theory can “clear minds,” but this idea is not reconciled with your later criticism of fact-based learning. The conclusion shifts to free education and national economic success, which are not clearly connected to the central comparison. Develop a consistent position and support each main reason with a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the paragraphs generally relate to education and practical learning. However, progression between ideas is not always clear, and some linking expressions do not show the intended relationship. For instance, “Therefore” introduces the claim that productivity cannot increase, although the preceding sentence says practical work is more effective; the connection is confusing. The conclusion also introduces free education and the economy rather than drawing together the argument developed in the body. Repeated references to “students,” “education” and “productive” make the writing feel repetitive. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example directly to its claim, and ensure that transitions accurately express cause, contrast or result.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “memorize,” “experiments,” “educational activities” and “productivity,” so the main subject is usually understandable. However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation and spelling problems make parts of the response awkward or unclear. Examples include “consist on practical,” “take studies serious,” “the productive side,” and “boost” in the context of an economy. There are also misspellings such as “Theoritical” and “institude.” Aim to learn vocabulary in natural combinations, such as “focus on practical skills,” “take their studies seriously” and “improve students’ engagement.” Proofreading spelling and choosing precise terms will make your argument easier to follow.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “when they understand it not just memorizing” and a reason clause beginning “Because of this.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, verb forms, agreement and articles. For example, “in all level of education” lacks plural agreement, “Any work students doing” is missing an auxiliary, and “the youth is not productive then any country would not succeed” does not form a clear grammatical comparison or conditional. The sentence beginning “Because of this students…” also needs punctuation after its introductory clause. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and complete clauses before adding complexity; then check articles, plurals and verb forms.
