Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some individuals believe, kids spend their half life on studies like kinder garden to colleges, just learn about the theory but not the practical skills.I partially agree with the statement and will discuss in the upcoming paragraphs how students lacking in the real life problem but can not neglect the importance of tradition teaching that how its help the kids teach discipline at early age.
On the one hand, how the practical skills are crucial of student's development. When children start from early age about the real life issue that they can sovle with practical knowlege but unfortunately, not just with the theory. For example,at the ealy age, a kid brain is just like a blank notebook and if you teach them something, they will keep it for life time in their minds. As a result of this, students can grow with good mindset and will help them to be a ideal person for the society.
On the other hand, tradional teaching aids the children to become a disciplined person. Because when kids attend the school everday, it gives a sense of discipline like to wake up early in the morning, to do everything on time and so on.For instance,a study of harvard found that kids with more discipline at their early age are more likely to succed in their later lifes.
To conclude with,Even though kids waste their a lot of time in the tradional methods of study but cannot disagree with the merits that how it hepls them to keep discipline in their lifes. So I partially agree with this statement.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear overall position—“I partially agree”—and discuss both practical skills and the value of traditional teaching, so the response is relevant to the question. However, the argument only partly addresses the central comparison between learning facts and learning practical skills. The first body paragraph explains why practical learning matters, but its example about a child’s “blank notebook” does not show a specific skill or outcome. The second paragraph focuses on discipline rather than explaining what factual learning contributes or how education should balance the two. Develop each point with a concrete example and explain how it supports your position; this would make the response less limited and the argument clearer.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs signalled by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion that returns to your position. This gives the reader an overall route through the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, particularly in the first body paragraph, where the point about practical skills moves to the “blank notebook” comparison and then to becoming an ideal person without clear links. Some transitions also feel mechanical, and the conclusion repeats the introduction rather than drawing together the two arguments. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to the paragraph’s main claim.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “practical skills,” “theory,” “discipline,” and “development,” and the contrast between practical and traditional teaching is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to interpret, such as “spend their half life on studies,” “real life problem,” and “a ideal person for the society.” Spelling errors, including “sovle,” “ealy,” and “succed,” also reduce clarity and control. Build a more precise set of education-related phrases and check spelling carefully. Prefer natural expressions such as “spend much of their time studying” and “real-life problems.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession in “Even though kids waste…” and a conditional structure beginning “when children start…”. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in sentence construction, articles, agreement, and punctuation can make meaning difficult to follow. For example, “Some individuals believe, kids spend…” lacks a grammatical link between the clauses, while “how its help the kids” has an unclear structure and verb form. There are also inconsistent sentence boundaries and missing spaces after punctuation. Practise building complete sentences around one main clause, then add subordinate clauses accurately; check articles and subject–verb agreement during revision.
