Student answer (Band 6.0)
Education plays an vital role in shaping an individual's future and developing essential skills for life. However, some people believe that educational institutions main focus is on theoractical information rather than practical knowledge. I partly agree with this statement and reasons will be discussed in the upcoming paragraphs.
To begin with, it is easy to understand why theoratical knowledge is crucial for the students. Firstly, theoratical study provides a strong foundation which is imperative part for developing knowledge in particular subject or field. For instance, in school if children studying about english then they need to learn about basic concepts such as alphabets, grammer, pronunciation and so on. Secondly, it allows learners to gain essential information about various subjects, such as, science, mathematics, history. Lastly, when they reading books they can improve their knowledge, concentration ability and understanding which they can use during practical experiments. Thus, theoratical knowledge plays an important role in academic development.
On the contrary, practical skills are more useful in real life. Practical skills prepare students for real- world challeges and they can become more independent and confident which improves performance at workplace. For example, if individual completed education in business field and have practical knowledge then they can handle all kinds of problems efficiently and effectively. Apart from this, practical training also increases employment opportnuities in real life and they can add this thing in the resume and cv and employers often prefer those candidates who have practical knowledge. They can also develop other skills which are necessary such as communication, problem- solving ability and so on.
In the final anlysis, I believe that both are equally important for children. A balanced approach system is more effective. Students can apply theoratical knowledge in real situations which improves creativity and critical thinking and prepares young people for their future development

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you partly agree that education gives too much attention to theory, while your conclusion argues that both theory and practical learning matter. You address both sides and give relevant examples, including learning English basics and applying business knowledge at work. This meets the task, but some points are more fully explained than others. The benefits of theory are listed—such as improving concentration and understanding—without showing in detail how these outcomes support learning. Likewise, the business example is broad and does not describe a specific practical skill or situation. To strengthen the response, explain your examples more fully and make the extent of your agreement explicit in the conclusion, linking it to how schools and universities should balance the two forms of learning.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on theoretical learning, a contrasting paragraph on practical skills, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “To begin with,” “On the contrary,” and “In the final analysis” helps readers follow the main stages. This is a coherent arrangement, and the ideas generally progress logically within each paragraph. However, some linking is mechanical, and the lists introduced by “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Lastly” make the theory paragraph feel more like a sequence of points than a developed argument. The reference in “they can add this thing in the resume and cv” is also vague. Use transitions that show the relationship between ideas, and connect each example more explicitly to the claim it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “foundation,” “academic development,” “employment opportunities,” and “critical thinking.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and the response attempts some less common expressions. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, for example “theoractical,” “challeges,” “opportnuities,” and “anlysis.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “add this thing in the resume and cv” and “an imperative part.” Aim to check spelling carefully and choose more natural collocations. For instance, you could say that practical experience “strengthens a CV” and that theoretical knowledge “provides an essential foundation.” This would make your vocabulary more accurate and flexible without changing your ideas.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses with “which” and conditional structures such as “if individual completed education in business field.” Most of the meaning remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. Examples include “an vital role” (article agreement), “if children studying” (missing verb), “when they reading books” (incomplete verb phrase), and “Students can apply … which improves” (unclear agreement and reference). There are also missing articles in phrases such as “in particular subject or field.” Review article use, verb forms, and subject–verb agreement, then proofread each sentence for a complete subject and verb. More accurate control of these patterns would make your varied sentence attempts clearer.
