Some people say that in all levels of education, from primary schools to universities, too much time is spent on learning facts and not enough on learning practical skills.
Do you agree or disagree?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Students learn different skills from the educational institutes. Fewer deligents believe that the learning organisations invest more on enhancing theoractical knowledge rather than improving the practical skills of the students. I disagree with this statement as schloos and universities organise time to time off campus learning opportunities for the learners. I will elaborate more on my opinion in the upcoming paragraphs.
To begin with, the elementary schools arrange one or two days from the week when students can go off site and learn from the world outside. They have one or two hours from each day to play in the ground . For example, schloos arrange cluster level activities and games for the students. Secondly, nowadays university students do reasearch activities where they have to work in the filed. They deal with masses to collect the right information. University students have the placements in the educational work settings. In one or two semesters they just do practical work and do not read the books.
In addition, learning theoratical facts has lots of importance. The students can work efficiently if they read thoroughly. The students who have more knowldge about the facts they can work better in the practicals. For example, a students with excellnet scores in theory gets better scores in practical field. Moreover, universities and schloos try to develop the learners personality in all the aspects of the life. They focus equally on theory and practical.
To summarise, no doubt schloos and colleges have made changes in the curriculum but their focus is to enhance the learning. I my perspective, learning organisations know better that where they need to spend their time and money.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you disagree that education gives too much attention to facts, and you refer to both practical learning and the value of theory. Examples such as off-site activities, university research and placements are relevant to the question. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. For instance, the claim that students spend “one or two semesters” doing practical work is broad and would be stronger with a specific explanation of what they learn and how much time this represents. The discussion of theoretical knowledge also supports the importance of facts more than it directly proves that schools give practical skills sufficient attention. Develop these comparisons more explicitly and support your main claims with precise examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Paragraphs generally have a clear focus, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “In addition” and “To summarise” help readers follow the argument. However, progression within the paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, with “Secondly” and “Moreover” introducing points without showing their precise relationship. Some ideas also sit awkwardly together: the paragraph about primary-school activities moves quickly from play to cluster-level games, while the university examples are listed rather than linked to the central comparison. Use clearer topic sentences and explain how each example supports your position. More precise referencing would also help connect claims across sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to education, including “off campus learning opportunities,” “research activities,” “placements” and “curriculum,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “enhancing theoretical knowledge.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “deligents,” “theoratical,” “schloos,” “reasearch” and “knowldge” are examples. Some expressions are also unnatural, including “invest more on enhancing” and “deal with masses.” Aim for accurate spelling and natural collocations, and choose words that express the intended meaning precisely. Proofreading and learning common academic phrases would make your vocabulary more effective.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “The students can work efficiently if they read thoroughly.” Most of the argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. For example, “Fewer deligents believe” has an unclear sentence structure, and “a students” has incorrect article and number agreement. In “I my perspective,” the opening phrase is incomplete, while “a student with excellent scores … gets” would need consistent singular agreement throughout. There are also punctuation issues, such as the unnecessary space before the full stop after “ground.” Work on sentence formation, articles, singular and plural agreement, and proofreading punctuation. Greater control of these patterns would make your varied sentences clearer.
