Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points, though the development of ideas is somewhat limited. You mention how you use the centre and why it is important, and you touch upon the consequences of closure. However, the response lacks depth; for instance, the explanation of the effects of closure is quite brief. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more specific examples or personal anecdotes. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter to a council, although the structure could be more clearly defined with distinct paragraphs for each requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is coherent, but the paragraphing is insufficient. You have essentially written the entire body in one block, which makes it harder for the reader to follow the progression of your arguments. While you use some basic cohesive devices like 'also' and 'because', the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical. To improve, ensure you use a new paragraph for each main point (e.g., one for usage, one for importance, and one for the impact of closure) and use a wider variety of linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You use some basic errors in word choice, such as 'pay your attention' instead of 'draw your attention' and 'be more healthier' (a double comparative). Phrases like 'sever problem' (severe) and 'loose weight' (lose) also indicate spelling and collocation issues. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring you use the correct form of adjectives and verbs. Expanding your range of descriptive language would help you convey your points more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'im living' (I have been living), 'children's' (children), and '5000 person' (people). Your sentence structures are mostly simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and capital letters. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct pluralization, and practicing the use of complex sentences with subordinating conjunctions to show relationships between your ideas.
