Dear Sir or Madam,

I writing to share my view on the decision of the local council to close the sports and leisure cenetre of city. I am the resident of the city since my birth. One of the major resoans why this centre need to be open. Not only young but also seniors use this cnetre in many different way. While, young individuals such as my friends and me use the centre to play different physical game, older people prefer to use to public meeting, fastivals and events. Therefore, this sports and leisure centre is very important for my city.

Whereas, it will not good for local people health and mental wellbing to close this centre. In addition, after closing this young people will not able to play physical gaming because lack of play areas. while lead them make lazy and less active in long run this thing became a resason of serious health issue.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points of the prompt: usage of the centre, its importance to the community, and the consequences of closure. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of how the centre is used is brief, and the discussion on the effects of closure relies on repetitive phrasing such as 'health issue' and 'lazy'. While the purpose of the letter is clear, the ideas could be expanded with more specific examples or a more formal tone to better suit the context of a letter to a local council.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate. For example, the transition 'Whereas, it will not good' is used incorrectly to introduce a new point, and 'this thing became a resason' lacks proper linking to the previous sentence. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the flow is occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing and a lack of sophisticated transition words to connect the arguments effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'cenetre', 'resoans', 'cnetre', 'fastivals', and 'sincererly'. Furthermore, word choice is often imprecise, such as 'physical gaming' instead of 'physical activities' or 'sports'. The range of vocabulary is limited to basic terms, and the errors in spelling and collocation occasionally draw attention, though they do not fully impede the reader's understanding of the message.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include 'I writing to share', 'the decision... to close the sports and leisure cenetre of city', 'this centre need to be open', and 'will not able to play'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents the writing from reaching a higher band score.
