IELTS Writing Task 1 question

Write a letter to the local council. In your letter

• give details of how you and your friends or family use the centre
• explain why the sports and leisure centre is important for the local community
• describe the possible effects on local people if the centre closes

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Sir

My name is Alex, I really want to discuss the problem regarding the news that our centre is going to be closed soon, sir that is our only way where we all go and enjoy with our families and friends

Me and my friends use the center for our fitness, we use for playing sports like cricket, badminton etc. and my elderly use it for their yoga and walk.

It is very important for all our local community to use the center because thats the only way we all go and play sports and spend our evening and do exercise, Moreover it is suggested by the doctor also to exercise in the evening

However if the center get closed not only me but whole community will have no choice to go for their exercise and they will spend the time in home which in result make them lazy which can impact in their physicall fitness. I would suggest not to close them
