Write a letter to the local council. In your letter

• give details of how you and your friends or family use the centre
• explain why the sports and leisure centre is important for the local community
• describe the possible effects on local people if the centre closes

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this letter to express my concern about the closure of the local community center.

First and foremost, the center is the place, where I meet my friends for the swimming every evening for the weekdays. After a long day of work, we all have some time to ourselves and share our lives with each other, while enjoying the swimming. In addition to this, we host a gathering for the seniors on weekend. They can talk to the young generation and share their life experience with them. Also, we assign people to the elderly for the week, who will help them in the outdoor activities.

This center is the backbone of the community. There is no other places in the area, which can offer a space for both the young and old generation. Many people cannot affort private gym for their workouts, they solely rely on the center for their health.

It is not just a place for gathering, but people can spend time together. The local come togerther and become community here. They will have no other places to meet and particapte in the activities. The seniors will be cut-off from the society as this is there safe places to gather.
