Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter covers all three bullet points: how you use the centre, why it is important, and the effects of closure. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention using the centre for 'cricket' and 'football', the explanation of the community importance is quite brief. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, although the opening 'Hope this letter found you well' is grammatically incorrect and slightly informal. To improve, ensure that each point is expanded with more specific detail to fully satisfy the requirements of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate. For instance, the transition 'Moreover there was cricket yard' feels disjointed from the previous sentence. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the use of 'this act of kindness' at the end, which does not clearly refer back to a specific request. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words would help the ideas flow more naturally between sentences and paragraphs.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message, but there are several instances of awkward word choice and spelling errors. Examples include 'convection centers' (likely meaning 'recreation centre'), 'full enthusiam' (enthusiasm), 'cricket yard' (cricket pitch/field), and 'fabulos' (fabulous). The phrase 'stress buster activities' is a bit informal for a letter to a council. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring correct spelling of common terms related to sports and community facilities.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The letter contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('this letter found you'), incorrect verb forms ('before closes this centre'), and missing articles ('as this is the only one available'). While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic tense consistency and ensuring that your sentence structures are grammatically sound.
