Dear Sir/ Madam,

I am writing to express about the local sports center my friends and I visited last week. It was amazing and very spacious leisure sports center to spend time toghether. There were plenty of games and sports activity available which we were enjoyed a lot.

Sports and leisure center are playing crucial role in individual's life. Person would like to visit with family and friends in local sports center after finish their workplace duty to release stress activity and spent important time. Furthermore, there are others local community's people also playing important in such a activities. Person can introduce with each other and can contribute their portion to resolve social circumstances.

There are plenty of effects if the center possible to get closed. There would be limited sources available to get relax for individuals. Apart from that it will affect the town economy's growth by closing the center. Having lot's of workload make person tired so they prefer to spend time with their loved ones but what if center closed. I hope local council will regarding the concern and provide some appropriate step to resolve this.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points of the prompt. You clearly explain how you use the centre, why it is important for the community, and the potential negative effects of its closure. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the explanation of why the centre is important relies on general statements rather than specific examples. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments are more fully extended and supported with concrete details. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter to a council, though some phrasing is slightly informal or awkward, which impacts the overall clarity of your position.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore' and 'Apart from that' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as the transition 'Apart from that it will affect the town economy's growth'. Additionally, some sentences lack smooth flow, making the progression of ideas feel a bit disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'crucial', 'spacious', and 'contribute'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'express about', 'release stress activity', and 'resolve social circumstances'. These errors occasionally make the meaning less precise. To improve, focus on learning common collocations (words that naturally go together) and ensure you are using vocabulary that fits the formal context of a letter to a local council. Spelling is generally accurate, but the word choice needs more precision to achieve a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Sports and leisure center are playing'), missing articles (e.g., 'in such a activities'), and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'we were enjoyed a lot'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable and detract from the professional tone of the letter. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralisation and verb tense consistency.
