Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to bring to your attention about we use the centre in your day to day life for sports and other activity.
Me and my family member like to visit centre on a daily basis to motivate toward some physical activity so that your health remain same as we growing up. Although, we have spend some time together in the centre to learn new things.
I think the sport and leisure centre is most important for each and every community member to learn new things according to their need. In addition, if the centre close then no body will motivate or no one can spend time together with their friend or family and also they can lose the interest toward sports which can also affect their health in future.
I hope that my request does not cause you any inconvenience. I looked forward to receiving your response.
Your Faithfully,
Dhruv

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points: how the family uses the centre, why it is important, and the effects of closure. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the explanation of how you use the centre is vague ('learn new things'), and the impact of closure is described in general terms rather than specific, concrete consequences. To improve, you should provide more detailed examples of the activities you participate in and elaborate on the specific social or health-related benefits the centre provides to the wider community.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure of your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'In addition' and 'Although' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'so that your health remain same as we growing up'. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would help the text flow more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on simple, repetitive phrasing such as 'learn new things' and 'spend some time'. There are also some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'bring to your attention about we use' (should be 'bring to your attention how we use') and 'lose the interest toward' (should be 'lose interest in'). To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more specific vocabulary related to sports, community facilities, and formal letter writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The letter contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow, such as 'Me and my family member like' (should be 'My family and I like'), 'health remain same' (should be 'health remains the same'), and 'if the centre close' (should be 'if the centre closes'). Subject-verb agreement and article usage are areas that require attention. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors prevent the writing from reaching a higher band.
