Write a letter to the local council. In your letter

• give details of how you and your friends or family use the centre
• explain why the sports and leisure centre is important for the local community
• describe the possible effects on local people if the centre closes

Dear Sir or Madam,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to you because it has come to my notice that sports and leisure centre will be closed in a month.

My family and I, live next street to the centre and since it has opened, it has played a vital role in our life. For past 3 years, since college I have never been into any physical activity which led to weight gain and high cholesterol. Ever since I started playing ball badminton in the centre, my cholesterol has reduced a lot and my doctor suggested to continue the activity as it is providing positive impact to my health.

My mom and dad have, along with our local community are practicing yoga there every morning. My friends and their families too regular use the sports and leisure centre, to take care of their mental and physical health through activities provided there.

If the centre is closed, then we all might lose track and it will definitely take a toll on our well-being. Please consider not closing the centre for the sake of our community.
