IELTS Writing Task 1 question

Write a letter to the local council. In your letter

• give details of how you and your friends or family use the centre
• explain why the sports and leisure centre is important for the local community
• describe the possible effects on local people if the centre closes

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Dear Sir,

I hope you are doing well. I am writing you to request to think again about the decision of closing the city centre.

It has been almost five years since I and my family are using city centre for various purposes such as sports area, library, jym and open party space. Apart from this, people arrange sports competetions here. In addition, many old aged people, children and ladies are spending their free time here in doing leisure activities which are really important for their mental and physical health.

Since, there is no other place available in the city where these facilities can be arranged, I request you to not to close the place because it would be direct compromise with the health and social life of city people.

So, I request you as a good resident to think about your decision again after looking all the factors. I hope you will consider the health of people and request the uper authority to change the decision.
