Write a letter to the local council. In your letter

• give details of how you and your friends or family use the centre
• explain why the sports and leisure centre is important for the local community
• describe the possible effects on local people if the centre closes

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear sir,

I am writing to express my concern about closing the centre which is located in my area.

First of all, I would explain that this center is main educational hub not only for me but also for my friends and my family .Because when we have time ,we prefer to visit here and take participate in physical activities as well as read some books thanks to library.

Another crucial aspect of this area is that ,it offers inside playground where a significant number of young generation are likely to play games such as footbal and vallybal .People who are older ,they spend their quality of time to chat with other local people as well as they also play some mental game like chess, which means it is vital for the growth of local community.

In the last ,I would say that if this center would be closed, it will be detrimental effect of the local individual's health ,since they spend their free time on mobile phone instead of indulging in physical and mental work .

I hope you will understand our concern and you will not close the center .I look forword to hearing from you .
