Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: describing how you use the centre, explaining its importance, and outlining the effects of its closure. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention the centre is useful for 'all age groups,' the explanation of why it is important for the community remains quite general. The description of the effects of closure is clear in intent but suffers from awkward phrasing, which slightly obscures the impact. To improve, try to provide more specific examples or elaborate further on the consequences to better demonstrate the significance of the centre to the local council.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'In addition to this,' which is good. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes interrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, such as in the second paragraph where the transition between the centre closing and the resulting issues is a bit disjointed. The use of referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult to determine exactly what some pronouns refer to. Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking words will help your ideas progress more smoothly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your main points. You use some relevant topic-specific terms like 'physical activities,' 'community,' and 'multiplex.' However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and non-standard collocations, such as 'financial creases' (likely meaning 'financial pressures' or 'difficulties') and 'presser of mentally and physically' (meaning 'mental and physical pressure'). These errors occasionally impede the clarity of your message. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise vocabulary and ensuring that words are used in their correct collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is a positive step. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the letter, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('there is a multiple facilities'), article usage, and word order ('Kids are might getting distract'). These errors are noticeable and sometimes make the text difficult to read. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for common errors like verb forms and pluralisation will significantly improve your accuracy.
