Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three requested points: you describe your family walking at the centre, explain its value as a place for neighbours to meet and stay active, and predict effects on people’s physical and mental wellbeing if it closes. The request for the council to reconsider also gives the letter a clear purpose. However, some points are more fully addressed than others. The personal-use detail is limited to daily walking, while the consequences of closure are stated generally; for example, explain what alternatives residents might lack or how particular groups could be affected. Developing these relevant ideas with one or two specific details would make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a coherent overall arrangement: it opens by stating its purpose, moves through the centre’s benefits, describes possible consequences of closure, and ends with a request. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these stages, and linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Furthermore,” and “Finally” make the sequence easy to follow. This shows some of the flexibility expected at a stronger level, but the progression is not always smooth: “Firstly” and “secondly” introduce overlapping points about community and social benefits, and “Finally” leads into the consequences without a clear transition. Some references, such as “it” in “it help them,” are also not fully clear. Grouping related ideas and varying transitions would improve cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main message, with relevant terms such as “community,” “active,” “mental wellbeing,” and “physically.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors make parts less clear or natural. Examples include “thier,” “peacefull,” “eqch,” “neighs,” and “togather”; “neighs” in particular may make the intended meaning difficult to identify. Phrases such as “spend time with thier love ones” and “sport centre” are also imprecise or awkward. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for community facilities, such as “local residents,” “stay physically fit,” and “a place to socialise.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple statements and some longer sentences with reasons, including “because it provide a peacefull place…” and “if the council deside to close…”. This gives the letter some structural variety, but control is uneven, and errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction recur. For example, “the council member are planning” needs a plural subject with matching verb, while “it provide” and “it help” need subject–verb agreement. The sentence “all the members staying nearby will no place to meet” is missing a verb, which obscures the meaning. There are also inconsistent capital letters after paragraph breaks. Practise accurate clause patterns and check each sentence for a subject and a correctly formed verb.
