Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three points and make your view clear: you describe using the centre for gym workouts, swimming classes and indoor games, explain its benefits for physical health, and warn that closure would mean longer journeys and difficulty reaching another facility. These are relevant details and give the council a reason to reconsider. However, the community-wide importance is less developed than your personal use: explain, for example, how the centre supports children, older residents or people who cannot afford private facilities. The effects of closure are also somewhat unclear in places, particularly the reference to “their quality of time.” A more precise explanation of likely consequences would make the case more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter has a recognisable progression: it first describes your use of the centre, then its benefits, and finally the consequences of closure. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these points, and phrases such as “On the other” signal a change in direction. However, some connections are awkward or incomplete, including “rbad whether As you know” and “On the other if it closed,” which interrupt the flow. Several ideas are also joined with repeated “And” or “By doing,” while the final paragraph moves quickly from travel difficulties to “their quality of time.” Use clearer transitions and arrange each paragraph around one main point, with supporting details in a logical order.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main message, including “gym,” “swimming,” “indoor games,” “community” and “physical health.” However, the range is limited and some word combinations or choices are unclear, such as “doing games,” “our body fits and fine” and “their quality of time.” These expressions make parts of the argument difficult to interpret. There are also spelling and form issues, including “alot” and “whether” where you appear to mean “weather.” Aim for more precise phrases for activities, health benefits and travel impacts, and check spelling and collocations. This would make your points clearer without changing the relevant ideas you already include.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both short statements and longer sentences, and the reader can generally follow the main message. However, control of sentence structure and verb forms is inconsistent. For example, “me and friends enjoying” lacks a correctly formed subject and verb, while “in evening taking classes” is a fragment. Agreement is also problematic in “sports center are important,” and the conditional “if it closed” needs a clearer, correctly formed clause. Punctuation and spacing are uneven, as in “games .Early morning.” Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and finite verb, and check articles, agreement and conditional forms. More accurate control of these patterns would make the letter easier to read.
