Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 2.5
The opening establishes a relevant purpose: “I am writing to express” your view about the centre, and you mention visiting it with family and friends. However, the response is far too brief to address the task adequately, and the required minimum of 150 words is not met. The details of how you use the centre are unclear, while the importance of the centre is only asserted in the unfinished phrase “many benefit the local people.” You do not explain what the centre offers the community or describe any effects of closure. To improve, develop each bullet point with specific examples, such as activities you attend, who benefits, and what residents might lose if the centre shuts.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
The letter begins with an appropriate salutation and an opening sentence that signals its purpose, giving the reader a basic starting point. However, the ideas do not progress into a complete letter: the second paragraph is fragmentary, and there is no closing or clear sequence covering the three requested points. The link between your personal experience and the centre’s wider community value is also not explained. Organise the response into a short introduction, separate paragraphs for your use of the centre and its community importance, and a final paragraph about the consequences of closure. Use clear links such as “In addition,” and “If it closes,” to guide the reader.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt some task-relevant vocabulary, including “local community,” “facilities,” “leisure centre,” and “benefit,” so the topic is recognisable. However, several choices or forms are inaccurate or unclear, such as “express my experience,” “appreciate the with facilities,” and “full of motivation.” The spelling “accomodation” is also incorrect, and “The also mark the important” does not communicate a clear idea. These problems make it difficult to understand the intended meaning in places. Aim for precise, natural phrases such as “share my experience,” “make good use of the facilities,” and “plays an important role in the community,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
There is an attempt to form a longer sentence in “I am writing to express my experience … which w i was recently visit,” but the relative clause and verb construction are not controlled. Other examples, including “The also mark the important of local community leisure centre have many benefit,” contain missing or misplaced grammatical elements, making the relationships between ideas unclear. The response shows little evidence of accurate sentence variety, although the opening salutation and basic sentence frame are appropriate. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check tense and agreement—for example, “I recently visited the centre with my family and friends” and “The centre provides many benefits to local people.”
