Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address the main topic and give relevant examples, including cricket, volleyball, swimming, running and yoga. You also state that the centre supports local people’s futures and suggest that closure would prevent participation in activities. However, the first bullet is only partly covered: you mention visiting with family and friends but do not clearly explain how you or they use the centre. The importance to the community is stated in broad terms, and the effects of closure need more specific development, such as reduced access to exercise or fewer opportunities for young people. Your position against closure is implied rather than clearly expressed. Add concrete details and explain each point more fully to make the letter’s purpose clearer.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable letter format and is divided into paragraphs that broadly correspond to the task points. The sequence moves from your experience to community benefits and then possible consequences, which gives the reader a basic structure. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the opening combines your visit, appreciation of facilities and motivation without explaining their relationship, while the final paragraph repeats the positive experience rather than closing with a clear request to the council. Linking phrases such as “Also” and “Allover” are limited or awkward, and references such as “the centre” and “they” are not always precise. Organise each paragraph around one clear point and connect examples to that point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “facilities,” “leisure centre,” “swimming,” “yoga” and “local community,” so the reader can identify the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make ideas difficult to interpret, such as “full of motivation,” “making future” and “old aged running.” “Allover” is also not the appropriate form for the intended concluding phrase, and there are spelling errors such as “accomodation.” Aim for precise, natural expressions rather than repeating general terms like “benefits” and “activities.” For example, describe the centre as providing affordable exercise and social opportunities, and specify which groups benefit.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a conditional idea about what may happen if the centre closes. However, control of sentence structure and verb forms is weak, and errors frequently make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “which i was recently visit,” “the leisure centre have many benefits,” and “if the centre closes they have faced many problem.” These contain problems with tense, agreement, and sentence construction. Articles and plurals are also inconsistent, as in “the leisure have” and “many problem.” Use shorter, complete sentences first, checking subject–verb agreement and verb tense; then build longer sentences with clear clauses and accurate punctuation.
