Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address the main situation by saying that you and a friend visit the centre on Sundays, that it supports health and fitness, and that closure could reduce opportunities for sport. However, the task is only partially covered: the way you use the centre is described very briefly, and the effects of closure are unfinished in “Closing of center might be lead to minimize / the p”. The community’s wider importance is also asserted rather than explained with specific examples. The response does not meet the required minimum length, so there is not enough development to fully explain all three points. Add concrete details about activities, who benefits, and likely consequences, then finish with a clear request to the council and an appropriate sign-off.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some basic organisation: the letter moves from your visits to the centre’s community value and then to possible effects of closure. Simple links such as “because” and “If” help show relationships between ideas. However, the progression is not sustained, and the final point breaks off, leaving the letter without a complete conclusion or sign-off. Several ideas are placed together without clear development, while “Some people don't get time…” is not clearly connected to your own use of the centre. Use separate paragraphs for your personal use, community benefits, and consequences of closure. Add linking phrases selectively and make sure each paragraph develops one clear point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the general topic, with relevant terms such as “sports and leisure centre,” “local community,” “different types of games,” and “health.” However, the range is limited and some word choices or spellings make the message less clear, including “counsil,” “heathy,” and “garaph.” Phrases such as “produce a huge effect” and “decline the garaph of their health” are not natural ways to express the intended meaning. Aim for precise, familiar collocations rather than trying to use complicated wording. For example, you could say that closure would “have a serious impact” and that residents’ “health and fitness could decline.” Proofread spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response relies mainly on short, simple statements, with a few attempts to connect ideas using “because” and “If.” Frequent errors in sentence structure and basic grammar sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “I and my friend use local counsil,” “Sports and leisure center in very essential,” and “this lead to decline.” There are also problems with articles, agreement, and verb patterns, as in “might be lead to minimize.” Practise complete sentence patterns such as “My friend and I use the centre every Sunday” and “If it closes, local people may have fewer opportunities to exercise.” Vary sentence forms gradually, but prioritise accurate verbs and complete clauses.
