Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three requested points: you describe using the centre for games, explain its value for recreation and community activities, and outline possible effects of closure on adults and older residents. Your request that the council keep it open is also clear. However, some ideas are less fully developed than others. For example, “boost their knowledge” through creative activities is not explained, and the consequences for older people are difficult to understand. Add specific examples, such as how the centre supports affordable exercise, social contact, or organised activities for different age groups, and explain the likely impact of losing these services.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter has a recognisable structure, with separate paragraphs for your use of the centre, its community value, the effects of closure, and your request. This gives the reader an overall sense of progression. Some connections between ideas are less clear, however: “These can be helpful” has an uncertain reference, and the sentence about older people does not clearly explain the consequence of closure. Linking phrases such as “In addition” and “As a result” could make relationships between points more explicit. The opening and closing are appropriate in purpose, but use a consistent formal salutation and sign-off to make the letter feel more cohesive.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary suited to the topic and formal letter, including “recreational activities,” “well-being,” “productive,” and “consider my request.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the message harder to follow: “informe,” “spaire,” “freinds,” and “adversally” are examples. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “boost their knowledge free” and “make for their.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations rather than using more elaborate wording where the meaning is uncertain. Proofread spelling carefully and choose direct expressions for the centre’s benefits and the consequences of closure.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and some longer structures, including the conditional opening “If local center closes their doors” and the reason introduced by “because.” The main message is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. For example, “If local center closes” needs an article, and “It will impact” should not begin with a capital after the comma. The sentence “aged people can not remaine in their later life” does not express a clear grammatical meaning. There are also problems with sentence punctuation and spacing around commas. Practise accurate articles, subject–verb agreement, and complete sentence patterns, then check each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
