Student answer (Band 5.5)
Pictures accompanied in the newspaper and news stories on TV with text has become an important part of the news to understand the story. From my perspective news stories on TV and in newspaper are very often accompanied by pictures are more effective than words.
To begin with, Words can also explain the whole story but some peoples can't understand the accurate meaning of the words, Pictures of that story with words in the newspaper provide more information and more meaningful rather than just words, Words can also explain the story but pictures make it more realistic and reliable source to understand the exact meaning of the story.Sometimes people can't understand the meanings of the written words but when they see pictures of the story they can understand the story. Pictures in the newspapers and news stories on TV are often more meaningful and clear the purpose of story, pictures are easy to understand while reading words consume more time than understanding picture story. Peoples who know and read the newspapers they know that if people read a single day newspaper than they spend more than half day to read all news.
Moreover, Nowadays more than 90 percent people preffered to watch the news on tv, because it is easy to understand and no need of more attention to understand the words like reading. News stories on tv are with live videos about than incident, there are many ancors who record vide through their mobile camera and provide it to related new channel to share information to the public, News channels upload it on their official channels and also tells about the incident and spread awaireness through videos.
In conclusion, News stories onTV and in newspaper are very often accompanied by pictures are more effective than words.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your opinion is clear: you consider pictures more effective because they help people understand news and make events seem more realistic. You also give relevant supporting points, including that viewers can see footage of an incident and that images may be easier to understand than written reports. However, the response addresses the question only partially because the comparison with words is not explored in enough depth. For example, the claim that newspaper readers spend “more than half day” reading is not clearly connected to why pictures communicate news better, and the point about news channels sharing videos needs a specific example or explanation. Develop both sides of the comparison and support your main reasons more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “To begin with” and “Moreover,” and a conclusion. These markers help the reader identify the main sections. However, progression within the paragraphs is uneven, and several ideas repeat rather than build on one another. The first body paragraph returns several times to the idea that pictures are easier to understand, while the newspaper-reading-time point interrupts that line of reasoning. Some links between sentences are also unclear, particularly the move from pictures being realistic to the claim about reading a newspaper for half a day. Organise each paragraph around one distinct reason, then explain and illustrate it before moving to the next point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “pictures,” “news stories,” “incident,” and “awareness.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “understand,” “story,” and “pictures.” There are also noticeable problems with word choice, collocation, and spelling that sometimes make the meaning less clear. For instance, “more meaningful rather than just words” is an awkward comparison, and “ancors” and “awaireness” are misspelled. Some expressions, such as “record video through their mobile camera,” could be stated more naturally and precisely. Aim to use a wider range of accurate reporting and communication vocabulary, while checking spelling and common word combinations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, but complex sentences are often difficult to control, and frequent errors affect clarity. The opening sentence, “Pictures accompanied in the newspaper and news stories on TV with text has become,” has an unclear structure and subject–verb agreement problem. There are also errors with articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries, as in “some peoples can't understand” and the long sentence beginning “Sometimes people can't understand the meanings.” Capitalisation is inconsistent, and several sentences run together without appropriate punctuation. Practise building clear subject–verb sentences first, then connect related ideas with accurate clauses. Careful editing for agreement, articles, and full stops would make your argument easier to follow.
