Since many ages, many people believe that pictures displayed in Newspapers and News stories are more effective than just words as it gives a more realistic approach to the whole case to understand. Which is correct in my views also. Following is detailed explanation to this.
Firstly, images and video clips are more easy to understand. To elaborate, the whole scenario got complicated by using difficult phrases but the pictures helps to explains entire case study in more precisely. As a result, the audience get more easily attracted towards it. For example, these days almost all news channels broadcasts news with pictures that helps people to remember that particular piece of news by images and one can recall the case immediately by viewing that photos.
Moreover, these pictures are helpful for the people who are illiterate or have hearing disability, to grasp the information provided in that particular news. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by arguing that pictures are more effective than words, providing relevant examples such as news accessibility and crime resolution. However, the essay is under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of development. While the position is clear, the conclusion is incomplete, cutting off mid-sentence. This prevents a full development of the argument and impacts the overall task completion. To improve, ensure you meet the word count and provide a fully formed conclusion that synthesizes your main points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay uses basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore' to organize ideas. Paragraphing is present, but the abrupt ending in the conclusion disrupts the logical flow of the text. Referencing is generally clear, but the progression of ideas is somewhat mechanical due to the limited range of linking words. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensure that your conclusion is fully developed to provide a sense of closure to the reader.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks sophistication. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'Since many ages' (should be 'For many years') and 'more easy' (should be 'easier'). The range is sufficient to convey the message, but it does not demonstrate the flexibility or precision required for higher bands. To improve, try to incorporate more precise collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing. For example, instead of 'more easy', use 'more accessible' or 'more intuitive'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('pictures helps', 'channels broadcasts') and incorrect comparative forms ('more easy'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensure that comparative adjectives are formed correctly. Increasing the variety of complex sentence structures while maintaining accuracy will also help raise your score.
