Some people say that these pictures are more effective than words.

Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the topic if words are more effective than pictures, honestly for me pictures are more productive rather than words in this era, because in this era most people watch news on TV rather than reading newspapers. For example now days people watch movies, anime, discovery channels and etc., but in the old era before the year 2000 people people will get information on what is going on in the world in newspapers, for entertainment they read novels, or read manga.
In this Genz era, children are getting used to watching rather than reading. Children are addicted to technology, they use it for everything like getting information, knowing what is going on in the world, watching movies or anime, or playing games like Pubg, 8ballpool, Block blast and more. If I'm being honest it isn't children's fault because now days both the Mother and the Father have jobs and because of that they hire nannie's to take care of their children while they are away, and nannie's usually play children's show like coco-melon, cartoons, our youtubers so that they can keep the children busy and calm while their parents are way.
Basically i support individuals who believe that images are vital for gathering info about the topics, but we shouldn't go far from reading news and reading articles which help people learning new vocabs , also most of the studies says that reading is much better than watching as it improve our mental capabilities to keep knowledge in our mind.
In conclusion, i would say we should maintain a balance between reading and watching so that we can stay stable in this fast moving world.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing an opinion on the effectiveness of pictures versus words. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention the shift toward visual media in the 'Gen Z era' and the role of parents and nannies, these points are not fully linked back to the core argument of why pictures might be 'more effective' than words in a news context. The conclusion introduces a balanced view, which is good, but the overall argument lacks depth and specific examples related to news reporting, focusing instead on general entertainment habits.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite limited and sometimes mechanical. Phrases like 'In the topic if' and 'Basically i support' are informal and do not effectively bridge ideas. The progression of ideas within paragraphs is occasionally disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition from children's media habits to the role of parents and nannies feels abrupt. More varied linking words are needed to improve the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You rely on repetitive phrasing, such as 'in this era' and 'now days' (which should be 'nowadays'). There are some informal choices, such as 'nannie's' (incorrect pluralization) and 'our youtubers'. To improve, you should aim to use more academic collocations and avoid colloquialisms. The range is sufficient to convey your meaning, but it does not demonstrate the flexibility needed for higher scores.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'most of the studies says'), incorrect pluralization (e.g., 'nannie's'), and run-on sentences. The sentence structures are mostly simple or compound, with limited use of complex structures. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and apostrophes. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band.
