Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, as it is only 170 words long. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the essay is incomplete and ends abruptly mid-sentence. While you have identified a clear position and provided some relevant points regarding the effectiveness of images, the arguments are under-developed and lack the depth required for a higher band. To improve, you must ensure you write a full introduction, at least two well-supported body paragraphs, and a complete conclusion. Expanding on your examples with more detail would help you reach the word count and fully address the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay shows a basic attempt at logical organization with paragraphing, but the abrupt ending severely disrupts the flow. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with' and 'Along with this', but these are somewhat mechanical. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'people can get the overall idea about the information through photos as what those are going to talk about'. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence followed by supporting evidence that flows naturally into the next point.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision needed for higher bands. You rely on simple descriptors like 'attractive' and 'eye-catching'. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'printing manner' instead of 'print media' and 'manual version' which is not the standard term for physical newspapers. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to media and communication, and work on using words in their correct context to avoid unnatural phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('news which are', 'photo attract', 'people looks like') and incorrect preposition usage ('According to me perception'). You rely mostly on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences often contain errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and proofreading your work for small errors. Incorporating a wider range of complex sentence structures, such as relative clauses or conditional sentences, will also help improve your score.
