Student answer (Band 6.5)
In the modernized era, both TV and newspaper have the news stories with pictures. Few individuals are considering this more effective as compare to words. I believe this is optimistic approach as it helps to learn more as compare to written stories.
First and foremost, children are most interested in stories. And sometime they find it more difficult to understand the stories without pictures. Thus, they consider it boaring. But pictures add interests in the stories, which attract juveniles to read story. Because, sometime children's parents read stories for them as they are unable to read. So that time number of children prefer to see the picture in order to understand the story.
What is more, pictures are helpful for people who are illetrace . As they can understand the news from the newspaper by just seeing the picture. As a result, it assist them to understand around their world by giving them an update.
However, I also believe that picture with the written text is more beneficial as it provides more knowledge with interests. Because If newspaper provide picture of news then news- readers can look at the pictures of incidents. For example, If news channel want to find out criminal, then it is convenient for them to print criminal's picture along with their personal detail. Moreover, number of children consider it boars to read just story like they feel sleepy, while reading. But pictures help to create interests among them by imagining story in their minds.
To conclude, according to my opinion adding picture along with written text is more effective rather than just words as it assists to understand more deeply as compare to read just words.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the effectiveness of pictures versus words. You clearly state your position that a combination of both is most beneficial. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive, particularly regarding children's interest in pictures. While you provide relevant examples, such as the use of pictures to identify criminals, some points could be expanded with more depth to fully explore the 'why' behind your arguments. The response is on-topic and maintains a consistent position throughout, which satisfies the requirements for a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'What is more', and 'To conclude' to transition between ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between children's inability to read and the preference for pictures could be more smoothly linked. Overall, the progression of ideas is coherent, but the flow between sentences could be improved for a higher score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. There are some spelling errors, such as 'boaring' instead of 'boring', 'illetrace' instead of 'illiterate', and 'boars' instead of 'boring'. While these errors are noticeable, they do not significantly impede communication. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'incidents' and 'personal detail', but the range is somewhat limited. To improve, focus on using more precise synonyms and ensuring accurate spelling of common descriptive words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the news', 'the newspaper'), subject-verb agreement, and preposition usage ('as compare to' should be 'compared to'). Punctuation is generally functional, though some sentence fragments occur. Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear throughout the text. The frequency of these errors prevents a higher score, as they are present in almost every paragraph, though they do not cause difficulty for the reader.
