Student answer (Band 6.5)

It is a fact that picutres say louder than words. Nowadays news industry uses images in their storyline. According to some people describing images in the news is more effective way. I strongly agree with this notion. I will explain it in forthcoming paragraphs.

Due to technological advancements in some past decades, it is more convenient to use images and posters in newspapers . This type of development make story and news more interesting. Sometime, elder people not able to read non native language. But, because of images they can easily predict scenario of the news. Apart from that visuals can easily describe the situation of any events Infront of the audience and this can make it more interesting and enjoyable.

Furthermore, without visuals story or news can become less effective and boring. It is noticed that broadcasting news with images can make it more reliable and trustworthy. Humans mostly prefer to watch news and read newspaper than the listening radio. This is because people find it to read news with images make it more interesting and effective. For example , sometimes brodcasting some war news on television with videos and pictures can aware citizens about the situation on the nation's boarder. They can experience the real situation and efforts of soldiers in order to protect nation against terrorism.

In conclusion , i strongly agree with this statement as broadcasting news with visual can convenient for people who can not familiar with some other languages . As well as newspapers with pictures can make news more reliable and trustworthy because citizens can believe only in real visual than just read or listening the news.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed the prompt by clearly stating your agreement with the idea that pictures are more effective than words. You provided relevant reasons, such as accessibility for non-native speakers and the emotional impact of war reporting. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat repetitive. For example, the point about accessibility is mentioned in both the second and fourth paragraphs. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported argument rather than restating previous points. The position is clear throughout, but the depth of analysis could be improved by exploring the limitations of images as well.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. You use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore' and 'In conclusion' to signal shifts in your argument. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where referencing is unclear, such as 'This is because people find it to read news with images make it more interesting'. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your meaning, such as 'technological advancements', 'reliable', and 'trustworthy'. However, there are several spelling errors ('picutres', 'brodcasting', 'boarder') and word choice issues, such as 'predict scenario' instead of 'understand the context' or 'aware citizens' instead of 'inform citizens'. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure you proofread for common spelling mistakes. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic synonyms for common words like 'interesting' or 'good' will also help elevate your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement ('This type of development make', 'elder people not able to read') and article usage ('the news industry', 'the radio'). Additionally, sentence construction is occasionally awkward, which impacts the fluency of the text. To progress, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Practicing the construction of complex sentences with accurate punctuation will also help you achieve a higher band score.
