Student answer (Band 6.5)
In current age, the debate over pictures with stories on TV and newspaper remains highly contentious. Although it's crucial to attach an evident for judgement but not at the cost of privacy invasion. I partially agree with this notion and give explanatory reasons to conclude my opinion.
On one hand, it's an era of social influence where we update ourselves with different apps and make spontaneous judgement on it. We just amazed ourselves with rough news due to its circulation on every channel and pictures will determine the real culprit behind. For instance, the installation of detecting instruments like CCTV cameras and auto modifying machineries will assist us in sorting the matter.
On the other hand, having pictures and publishing it on social media is truly a matter of social invasion. It's mandatory to adapt innovations and protect yourself from fraudulent activities, but not at the cost of destroying someone's private life. There are multiple departments like cybercrime and investigation agencies for rectification of news, so let them perform their duties and spread the news after confirmation with valid reasons.
In conclusion, it's good to have knowledge about social media but with correct usage and assemblage we protect someone from humility. Although pictures are great evidence and stray away from haphazardness, the steadily increasingly innovations like AI and face morphing will make the decisions stardoms. Therefore, act vigilantly and never take a risk to spread any news by solely relying on social media apps. Hence, words are still more reliable for accurate news even if they are less eye-catching.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the effectiveness of pictures versus words, but the development of ideas is somewhat tangential. While you touch upon the impact of images, you shift focus toward privacy concerns and cybercrime, which are related but do not directly answer the core question of whether pictures are more effective than words for news communication. The position is clear, but the arguments lack depth regarding the communicative power of visual media. To improve, ensure that every paragraph directly supports your stance on the effectiveness of pictures versus text, rather than pivoting to the ethics of social media usage.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand' and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel abrupt. For example, the jump from CCTV cameras to the ethics of social media in the second and third paragraphs lacks a smooth logical bridge. Improving the use of referencing and ensuring that each sentence builds clearly upon the previous one would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contentious', 'spontaneous', and 'fraudulent'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'attach an evident', 'auto modifying machineries', and 'decisions stardoms'. These errors occasionally impede the precision of your argument. To reach a higher band, focus on using collocations accurately and expanding your range of topic-specific vocabulary related to media and journalism, while ensuring that the words you choose are used in their correct grammatical form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'In current age' (missing article), 'we update ourselves with different apps and make spontaneous judgement on it' (pronoun reference error), and 'the steadily increasingly innovations' (adverb/adjective confusion). These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and ensuring that modifiers are placed correctly within the sentence.
