Student answer (Band 7.0)
The topic of news stories accompanied with pictures on televison and newspapers has attracted a gerat deal of attention. In my opinion, it is always a great idea to grab attention and help in visualization.
First of all, images included in news atricles easily grasps peoples attention to dig in more about an article. For example, regarding the nearby flood which happened recently, if the author displays pictures along side would definitely help people understand how worse the situation was, encouraging people to help those affected. Moreover, visuals always make it easier for people to catch attention compared to text articles. Sometimes people just skim throught headlines but when an image is placed along the side would catch attention to read whole article.
On the other hand, there are disadvanatges to this, such as false leading others to get invloved in dangerous activities. For instance, displaying an image which depicts wrongful acts regarding any community. This can lead to protests and fight against others and create chaos in the country, can also cause political issue with the present governemnt. Now a days we can also observe journalists display an artificial generated images when they don't have any associated images to represent along the side, which opens a question of authenticity about the news item and the authors ideas.
In conclusion, although different viewpoints exists I firmly believe that when visualizations are included in news articles, they show more positive impact than not included at all. Overall on this topic advantages outweigh the disadvantages, when things are genuine and legal.

|---|---|

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the task and maintains a clear position throughout. You have provided relevant arguments for both the effectiveness of images and the potential risks, such as misinformation. The ideas are generally well-developed, though the explanation of the 'disadvantages' could be more nuanced to reach a higher band. For example, the point about 'artificial generated images' is a strong, contemporary observation that adds depth to your argument. To improve, ensure that your supporting examples are fully integrated into the flow of the paragraph to avoid slight jumps in logic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. You use cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand' to guide the reader through your arguments. However, there are some instances where the flow is slightly mechanical or the referencing is a bit repetitive. For instance, the phrase 'along the side' is used multiple times, which makes the cohesion feel a bit restricted. Improving the variety of your linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would help elevate your score in this criterion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully using terms like 'visualization', 'authenticity', and 'depicts'. However, there are several spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'televison', 'gerat', 'atricles', 'disadvanatges', and 'governemnt'. Additionally, some word choices are slightly imprecise, such as 'false leading' instead of 'misleading' and 'artificial generated' instead of 'artificially generated'. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a wider range of precise collocations to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and article usage (e.g., 'images... easily grasps', 'a artificial generated images'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some run-on sentences and missing commas that affect the clarity of your writing. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed with greater accuracy. The majority of your sentences are understandable, but the frequency of minor errors prevents a higher score.
