Student answer (Band 6.0)
Although many people believe that news stories on television and in media are very often showed by pictures and say that these images are more effective than words is convincing. I think in reverse manner and disagree to the given statement. My inclination are justified in the following paragraphs.
Out of all the arguments, the strongest one to prove my point is words carry more detailed information than pictures and it is easy to understand. This is to say upbringing kids often understand information on the basis of the descriptions and titles. A good example for this is blind peoples they often live their life on the basis of words and their sense of listening to their surrounding.
The other reason to prove my point is words are more clear and effective because they provide detailed information and reduce the risk of misunderstanding. For example, in the multinational companies they often use email writing as a proof and safety.
On the contrary, some people counter claim the mentioned support, the foremost argument they do is pictures attract attention quickly and make information easier to understand and remember. Also, Picture can create emotional impact and seeing picture can sometimes recall the old and valuable memories.
Thus, to wrap up the discussion, it can be said despite attracting quick attention and make information easier, my reasons that words carry more detailed information and also reduce the misunderstanding and it helps individuals to understand the concept quickly and in simple way are logically acceptable.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that words provide more detail, the example regarding 'blind people' is not fully relevant to the context of news media, and the example of 'multinational companies' is a bit vague. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting examples directly relate to the effectiveness of news reporting. The conclusion is present but repeats the points rather than synthesising them effectively. Overall, the task is addressed, but the arguments lack depth and logical extension.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Out of all the arguments', 'The other reason', and 'On the contrary'. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'My inclination are justified in the following paragraphs'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs needs more variety to avoid repetitive sentence structures.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. You rely on basic terms like 'good example', 'clear', and 'effective'. There are some awkward collocations, such as 'showed by pictures' (instead of 'accompanied by') and 'in reverse manner'. To improve, you should aim to use more sophisticated vocabulary related to media and communication, such as 'visual impact', 'nuance', or 'interpretative'. Spelling is generally accurate, but the limited range of vocabulary prevents a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. For example, 'My inclination are' (subject-verb agreement), 'blind peoples' (pluralisation error), and 'seeing picture' (missing article). There are also issues with sentence construction, such as the opening sentence which is a run-on and grammatically incomplete. While the meaning is usually clear, the frequency of these errors suggests a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of basic grammatical rules.
