Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays, a number of news stories are always accompanied with eye-catching pictures in order to provides accurate details related to stories to the readers and viewers. Some people argue that images are more important as compare to written description. Therefore, I largely agree with both views, as along with alluring pictures, words are also needed to catch the attention of readers.
On the one hand, captivating pictures play a significant role for providing in-depth explanation behind the stories in the newspapers or on TV. For instance, the news related to corona vaccinations help to governments to spread awareness regarding where local community can take vaccines and what is positive effects of vaccines on their health in order to prevent the chances of corona disease. Additionally, certain news along with pictures provoke the emotions and encourage readers to forward their helping hands to needy people. Sometimes captivating pictures don't required word description to connect with the society, images are able to narrate whole story effectively. Also, long written notes in newspapers would be brake their attention and discourage them to pay their focus in news stories.
On the other hand, a balanced approach would be advisable because along with alluring pictures, written notes are effective to provide precise information to the local community. Such as, news stories regarding earthquake, it would be grateful if higher authorities will access them in-depth word explanation and pictures for clearing the concept and motive behind the stories. As only words are insufficient and could not keep the readers interest till the end of stories.
In conclusion, a number of news stories most probably occupied by effective images along with written description in order to provide accurate details behind the news stories and beneficial for the governments to share valuable details related to new schemes, policies and certain sensitive news.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, providing a clear position that both images and words are necessary. The ideas are relevant, such as the role of images in health awareness and the need for text to provide context during disasters. However, some arguments are slightly under-developed; for instance, the explanation of how images 'provoke emotions' could be more explicitly linked to the effectiveness of news delivery. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not fully synthesize the main points. Overall, the response is well-focused on the topic and maintains a consistent position throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two sides of the argument. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'Additionally' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are instances where referencing is unclear, such as in the sentence 'it would be grateful if higher authorities will access them in-depth word explanation', where the pronoun 'them' does not clearly refer to a preceding noun. Despite these minor issues, the progression of ideas is generally clear.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, with some attempts at less common items like 'alluring', 'captivating', and 'in-depth'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'brake their attention' (instead of 'break'), 'forward their helping hands' (which is slightly unnatural), and 'occupied by' (instead of 'accompanied by'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over word choice to reach a higher band. The range is sufficient to convey the intended meaning clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms and prepositions, such as 'provides accurate details' (should be 'provide'), 'as compare to' (should be 'compared to'), and 'don't required' (should be 'do not require'). Additionally, the sentence 'it would be grateful if higher authorities will access them' is grammatically incorrect in its structure. While the meaning remains clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. More attention to subject-verb agreement and tense consistency is recommended.
