Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 87 words. Consequently, the task is not fully addressed, and the ideas are severely underdeveloped. While you state a clear position in the introduction, the essay stops abruptly before providing sufficient supporting arguments or a conclusion. To improve, you must ensure you develop your points with detailed explanations and relevant examples to meet the minimum length requirement. Currently, the response is too brief to demonstrate the ability to sustain an argument or provide a comprehensive answer to the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay shows a basic attempt at logical organization by using a transition word ('Firstly'). However, because the text is incomplete and cuts off mid-sentence, it is impossible to evaluate the overall progression of ideas or the effective use of cohesive devices. The paragraphing is also incomplete. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that you use a variety of linking words to connect your ideas logically throughout the entire essay, leading to a well-structured conclusion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally appropriate for the topic, such as 'impactful', 'complex events', and 'visual data'. However, there are minor errors, such as 'pictures indeed a powerful tool' (missing the verb 'are') and 'procide' (spelling error). The range of vocabulary is limited due to the brevity of the response. To achieve a higher band, focus on using more precise, academic vocabulary and ensure correct word forms and spelling. Expanding your range of collocations will also help demonstrate a more sophisticated command of the language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains some basic grammatical errors, such as the omission of the verb 'are' in the phrase 'pictures indeed a powerful tool' and the comparative error 'impactful than' (should be 'more impactful than'). While the sentence structures attempted are clear, the limited length prevents the demonstration of a wide range of complex grammatical structures. To improve, focus on ensuring subject-verb agreement and using a mix of simple and complex sentences accurately. Proofreading for small omissions like missing verbs will significantly improve your accuracy.
