Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is indeed true that Picture presentation attracts more than written words. News headlines in magazine as well as on television always accompanied by images. Certain people believe that photos are more fascinating than words. I strongly agree with the statment and my opinion will be justified in the following paragraphs.
Discussing my view the foremost one reason I shall put forward is that news headings with beautiful images are increase publicity. For instance, catchy images increase curiosity in readers to read as well as colourful pictures can highly impact on viewers that lead to boost publicity of broadcast chennels. Furthermore, publicity generate more employment. By this I mean that a larger area distribution of magazine required more manpower for newspaper supply.
Additionally, graphical presentation saves time of individuals, as half of the story can be easily understand by pictures. Therefore, requirment of reading full article has reduce. Moreover, children are encourage to read newspaper through cartoon images. Consequently improve their knowledge and creativity. In fact, photos on news or television with stories of historical places help to improve economic growth of particular city. For Example, picture about historical carvings and beautiful architecture, which attracts more tourits to visit the places, therfore this helps to generate good revenue of the place.
All in all it can be said that, pictures attract people to watch and read. They improve their knowledge, information of things going on the different part of the world. It also improve creativity and critical thinking in children. Create more employment as well as bost the economical growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas, such as the impact on publicity and the time-saving nature of images, are relevant. However, the development is somewhat uneven. For instance, the link between 'news pictures' and 'economic growth of a city' is a bit tangential and could have been more tightly focused on the effectiveness of visual communication in news media. While the main points are clear, some arguments lack depth and rely on generalisations. Overall, the response covers all parts of the task sufficiently.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a central theme. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Furthermore', 'Additionally', and 'Consequently', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the referencing is occasionally imprecise, such as in the second paragraph where the link between 'news headlines' and 'employment' is somewhat abrupt. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different arguments, which helps the reader follow the writer's line of reasoning.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are several instances of awkward word choices or incorrect collocations, such as 'Picture presentation attracts more' (should be 'Visual presentation is more engaging') and 'publicity generate more employment' (should be 'generates'). The student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'graphical presentation' and 'architecture', but the overall range is limited. Frequent minor errors in word form and collocation occasionally hinder the natural flow of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('images are increase', 'publicity generate', 'reading full article has reduce') and article usage. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. The punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence construction often feels clunky due to the grammatical inaccuracies. A greater focus on proofreading for basic verb forms and pluralisation would significantly improve the clarity of the writing.
