In this contemporary era, technology is increasing day by day due to this everything is becoming depend on this. It is commonly seen that in newspaper and stories shows on television are accompanied by pictures because people become more attract towards the photos rather than just listen the news . Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 171 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the essay is cut short after only one body paragraph. While the student attempts to address the prompt by expressing an opinion, the lack of length prevents a full exploration of the topic. The ideas presented, such as the visual appeal of news, are relevant but remain under-developed. To improve, the student must provide a more comprehensive discussion, including a second body paragraph and a clear conclusion, to ensure all parts of the task are fully addressed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay shows some attempt at organization with an introduction and a body paragraph. However, the progression of ideas is limited due to the incomplete nature of the text. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with' and 'First and foremost', but they are somewhat mechanical. The paragraphing is insufficient, as the essay lacks a proper conclusion and a balanced structure. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences is sometimes disrupted by grammatical errors, making the overall logical progression difficult to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The range of vocabulary is limited and repetitive. The student relies on basic phrasing, such as 'technology is increasing day by day' and 'people become more attract'. There are noticeable errors in word choice and form, such as 'attract' instead of 'attracted' and 'listen the news' instead of 'listen to the news'. These errors, while not always impeding communication, demonstrate a lack of control over more sophisticated vocabulary. To reach a higher band, the student should focus on using more precise collocations and a wider variety of topic-specific terminology.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('everything is becoming depend'), incorrect verb forms ('listen the news'), and sentence structure ('there are many reasons related to why people are often accompanied by pictures'). The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple or slightly flawed complex sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of hyphens and spacing. A greater focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors is necessary.
