Student answer (Band 5.5)
Newspapers and news channels play very crucial role in the world. There is on going discussion that having photographs and videos on the news are important or not. In my opinion I will discuss more in this essay why they are important with few examples.
I believe that in this modern era humans are using internet and social media apps where they are getting news within seconds after the new announcements or any accidents. It is very effective of having videos or picture of the incident which gives more understanding and clarity to the people instead of big paragraphs. To consider recent serve of the CTV news in Canada proves that news are getting more views and following audiences opinions which have live videos compare to just article of the scenario.
Most important reason why I support putting photos and videos is lack of time after reading huge essay. Nowadays, everyone is busy and don’t want to spend time after reading instead of they can watch and listen short video or speech to get the morel of the news. To elaborate more, kids and adults are more looking for real visuals of the any research or any new invention and which is easy to explain by using graphics and artificial intelligences. For instance, POTUS(President of the United States) started to publish his new developments and future plans with pictures and videos of them during their announcement which help him to give more dip explanation in short time to the citizens of the country instead of writing pages of article.
In conclusion, considering all these reasons and real examples like how pictures and videos helps to save time for people and helping to more understanding and effective, news papers and other platforms started to add more and more real pictures compare to publish just story which takes more time and less attention of the people.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear opinion that visual media is more effective than text. The ideas are relevant, such as the time-saving aspect and the clarity provided by visuals. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The example regarding the 'CTV news in Canada' is vague, and the reference to the 'POTUS' is slightly underdeveloped in terms of how it specifically proves the effectiveness of visuals over text. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your examples with more specific details or logical explanations of why the visual element is superior in those particular contexts.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a central focus. There is a clear introduction and conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'To consider recent serve of the CTV news' or 'instead of they can watch'. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the transition between sentences could be smoother to improve the flow. Referencing is mostly clear, though some phrasing makes the logical connection between sentences feel a bit disjointed at times.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'visuals', 'graphics', and 'artificial intelligence'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and awkward collocations, such as 'morel of the news' (likely meaning 'moral' or 'essence'), 'dip explanation' (likely meaning 'deep'), and 'serve of the CTV news' (likely meaning 'survey'). These errors occasionally impede the precision of your argument, though they do not prevent the reader from understanding your overall point.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the' news), prepositions, and verb forms (e.g., 'everyone is busy and don’t want to spend time'). There are also issues with word order and sentence construction, such as 'It is very effective of having videos'. While these errors are noticeable and occur throughout the text, they rarely cause significant confusion or impede the overall communication of your ideas.
