Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is widely observed that digital news and local newspaper companies often use images as a reference related and some people believes that images have more significant effect than the actual news. In my opinion, visual pictures with the news can be beneficial as it makes it easy to understand and offers exact context of the news. However, selection of an inconvenient image can have negative effects on young adults.
On the one hand, due to technological advancement it is possible for news media to generate the picture related to the particular news. In addition, offering picture with the news is a convenient way to understand the scenario more deeply in its context. Therefore, people do not have to refer any other platform to understand what's actually happened. For example, it is easy to understand if newspaper published FIFA team players with their faces, as a result an individual can recognized his or her favorite player easily, instead of searching for it. Moreover, articles with pictures can saves time and makes it more interesting to read for reader.
On the other hand, sometime digital media stories often got wrong information and published it with same image as a first-hand information, which can have diverse effects on society and can mislead the reader to consume false news. Admittedly, pictures can sometimes have negative consequences, particularly when they are misleading or inappropriate. For example, an unrelated photograph may be used with a news story and cause readers to misunderstand the actual situation. Nevertheless, this problem can be reduced through responsible journalism and proper regulation.
To conclude, pictures are the effective way to convey current affairs more strongly. However, false images with wrong information can affect the reader interest. Thus, in my opinion there are some negative effects which can be control by restrictions and policies, and an image plays significant role with news in the long term.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, providing a clear position that images are beneficial for understanding but carry risks of misinformation. The ideas are relevant, though some development is slightly repetitive. For instance, the argument about 'convenience' in the second paragraph is clear, but the example regarding FIFA players is somewhat simplistic. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more nuanced examples that demonstrate a deeper analysis of the impact of visual media on public perception. Overall, the position is consistent and the main points are adequately supported.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the benefits and drawbacks. You use a range of cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'In addition', 'Moreover', and 'Nevertheless'. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as 'the picture related to the particular news', which lacks a clear antecedent. The flow of ideas is generally smooth, but improving the variety of linking phrases would enhance the overall cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'technological advancement', 'current affairs', and 'responsible journalism'. There are some instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'generate the picture' instead of 'source' or 'capture', and 'can be control' (grammatical error affecting lexical accuracy). While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, some collocations are slightly awkward, such as 'consume false news'. To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensuring that word forms are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('some people believes', 'articles... can saves time'), article usage ('the picture' vs 'pictures'), and verb form errors ('can be control' instead of 'can be controlled', 'can recognized' instead of 'can recognize'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are persistent. To achieve a higher band, you need to proofread specifically for subject-verb agreement and consistent verb tense usage.
