The news channels and newspapers frequently publish news accompanied with pictures and people in general consider this has a smart move to draw attention to the news and I agree with this because it is an effective marketing strategy.
The pictures related to the news articles, provide enhanced visual inputs that words cannot compete with. For instance, the independence's day news article consisted of the event details along with the pictures of the parade and other events happened during the flag hoisting. Although the article elaborated every single detail of the event in words, it couldn't compensate the pride people felt when they saw the picture of the Indian flag hoisted. Thus, the pictures make people connect with the news more than words.
The pictures also help people understand the reality more instantly than words.
As a matter of fact, we knew southern part of India underwent lots of losses due to the 2024 flood. Many news channels covered this story and even travelled to those affected areas and broadcasted the disaster. Also, many newspaper published this catastrophic news in their frontpage along with the pictures of the affected area. This helped many sponsors to empathize with the situation, and because of which a lots of people came forward to donate for the well-being of the victims. When interviewed, the sponsored responded that the scene of the event broadcasted and pictures captured has helped them understand what the people in those areas are going through. So, they volunteered to fund for the re-development of the destroyed building and roads. The words in the articles helped get detailed information, the picture helped to understand the situation better. This again proves that pictures help in communicating a message effectively.
I conclude, although words provide detailed information on the matter, I believe, pictures let people connect with the situation more easily, and helps in drawing attention immediately.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt clearly and maintains a consistent position throughout. You have provided relevant examples, such as the Indian Independence Day parade and the 2024 floods, to support your argument. The ideas are extended well, particularly in the second body paragraph where you explain the impact of visual media on charitable donations. To reach a higher band, ensure that your introduction clearly paraphrases the prompt rather than repeating it, and consider exploring the counter-argument (why words might be superior) more deeply before refuting it, which would provide a more balanced and sophisticated discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'For instance', 'Thus', and 'As a matter of fact' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive. For example, the start of the second paragraph could be improved with a more sophisticated linking phrase. Additionally, the referencing in the third paragraph, specifically the use of 'the sponsored' to refer to donors, is slightly unclear and affects the flow. Improving the variety of cohesive devices would enhance the overall readability.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'catastrophic', 'empathize', and 're-development'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For instance, 'consider this has a smart move' should be 'consider this a smart move', and 'the independence's day' is grammatically incorrect. Furthermore, 'the sponsored responded' is an awkward use of vocabulary; 'donors' or 'sponsors' would be more appropriate. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring that less common vocabulary is used with greater accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that persist. Examples include 'many newspaper published' (should be plural 'newspapers'), 'the scene of the event broadcasted' (should be 'broadcast'), and 'volunteered to fund for the re-development' (the verb 'fund' does not require 'for' in this context). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some minor errors in article usage and subject-verb agreement. Increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences will help you achieve a higher band score.
