Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is undeniably true that television is the source of entertainment and information. Owing to this, a large number of people assume that news and stories are accompanied by pictures because videos are more informative than written content. I partially agree with this notion and I will elaborate my view points in the subsequent paragraphs.

Commencing with the most prominent reason how words are beneficial than pictures. To be more clear, usually newspaper publish news along with proper explanation because wording provide full information of the news that helps to give accurate information to the reader which leads to reducing the risk of misrepresentation and misunderstanding.

On the paradoxical side, there are tremendous benefits of pictures content the first and foremost is that, as written content are boredom for some people due to this issue public prefer visual content because in videos people gain the interest and sometime they understand quickly by visual content than to be read words.Hence, accompanying picture stories are helpful for today's generation.

In my opinion, it is evident that I agree with written content is better because it is more informative, giving details in depth with proper explanation. So, reading newspaper thoroughly in written content helps attain information even the complex information publish accurately in words. However, stories in videos and pictures give information with many different ways along with divergent effects that rise the teenager interest.

In conclusion, by analyzing the aforementioned domains it is evident that no doubt news and shorts films changes in visual content but I think word give more information along with accuracy and relevancy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the effectiveness of words and pictures. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you state a partial agreement, the arguments regarding why words are better (accuracy/detail) and why pictures are better (engagement/speed) are repetitive and lack specific, concrete examples to support your claims. To reach a higher band, you should provide a more detailed illustration of a specific news event or scenario where one medium clearly outperforms the other. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments remain at a general level, which prevents a more thorough exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'Commencing with', 'On the paradoxical side', and 'In conclusion'. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'Owing to this' at the start of the second sentence. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear; for example, in the third paragraph, the phrase 'due to this issue' does not clearly link back to a specific preceding point. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the flow between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall readability of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You use some basic terms repeatedly, such as 'information' and 'content'. There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'written content are boredom' (should be 'can be boring') and 'rise the teenager interest' (should be 'increase teenagers' interest'). While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there is a lack of sophisticated or idiomatic language that would demonstrate a more flexible command of the English language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. For instance, 'usually newspaper publish news' lacks an article and correct verb agreement ('newspapers publish'). There are also issues with sentence fragments and awkward phrasing, such as 'how words are beneficial than pictures' and 'even the complex information publish accurately'. While you attempt complex structures, the control over these is inconsistent, leading to errors in subject-verb agreement, pluralization, and word order. These errors are noticeable but do not completely prevent the reader from understanding your main points.
