Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is seen in newspappers and telivision show that they use visuals to attract the audience towards them and people believe that pictures are good rather then words. However,I agreed with this statement and in upcoming paragraphs I have explained about it.

To begin with, Pictures are good for television shows because people who are unable to listen or read through visules it makes the aware what is going on. Secondly, pictures make shows more attractive and interesting. For example, visuals describe more efficiently with color and graphs that helps to understand the deep meanings and gives ideas about the shows. As a result, pictures are good for better understanding.

Moreover, In newspapers companies use visuals and It has many benifits. They use visuals to grab the attention of people and in pictures they give reference that it self explain the whole story about the news. Likewise, any incident or product ads require some visuals studies that makes aware the aundience. Instead of reading the whole paper they can see the picture relvent to their interest and can go for that without wasting their time. For example, ladies are interested in beauty products they always try to find out new in market. So, in this case its helpful for them to get ideas about the products such as brush and packaging of new items.

In conclusion, Visuals play an important role in daily life to cath things easily and people are used to read newspapers and television news to keep themselves updated.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear opinion on the effectiveness of pictures compared to words. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide reasons such as accessibility for those who cannot read and the ability to grab attention, the arguments lack depth and specific, well-elaborated examples. The conclusion is quite brief and does not effectively summarize the main points or restate the position in a sophisticated way. To improve, focus on expanding your supporting arguments with more detailed explanations and ensuring that each paragraph contributes significantly to your overall position.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Secondly', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' to link your points. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and the flow between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'it self explain the whole story', where the antecedent is ambiguous. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring clearer pronoun references would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are several spelling errors (e.g., 'newspappers', 'telivision', 'visules', 'benifits', 'aundience', 'cath'). Additionally, some word choices are imprecise, such as 'visuals studies' or 'go for that'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary, including less common lexical items, and pay closer attention to spelling and accurate collocation to ensure your writing sounds more natural and professional.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('Pictures are good', 'companies use visuals and It has'), article usage, and sentence fragments ('people who are unable to listen or read through visules it makes the aware'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement and capitalization after punctuation. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall fluency of the writing. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors will help improve your score.
