Student answer (Band 5.5)
TV and newspapers stores are often comes with visuals. Some believe that words are less effective as compared to the pictures, as visuals gave a more clear view of the incident. However, I believe that pictures can be misleading and misunderstood.
Newspapers and TV stories are often display with pictures because it gives a person more clear way of think about the incident. one can assume about the event just by looking at the picture. For instance accidents visuals helps the people to examine or assist them about the incident. Additionally, pictures add authenticity to any event, people believe in those things more which they saw.
On the other hand, it is really easy to use images to spread misinformation. An individual cannot predict at what time the event occurred. for instance images generated by AI frequently spreads information around the world. Subsequently, pictures could be misinterpreted by some people, not every picture can tell what exactly happening.
In my opinion, words are equally necessary along with images, as new media, has accountability for spreading information. Misleading and misinterpretation could cause tension in society.
In conclusion, visuals may give an idea and increase the authenticity of a certain event. However, the images can be used to spread misinformation or misleading people if it is not used appropriately.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the effectiveness of pictures versus words. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement (217 words), which negatively impacts the development of ideas. While the position is clear, the arguments are somewhat superficial. For instance, the point about AI-generated images is relevant but lacks sufficient elaboration to fully explore the complexity of the topic. To improve, you must expand on your points with more detailed examples and analysis to meet the length requirement and demonstrate a deeper engagement with the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'However', 'Additionally', and 'On the other hand' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel abrupt. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'people believe in those things more which they saw', which is grammatically awkward and disrupts the logical progression. Improving the variety of cohesive devices and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'more clear way of think' and 'examine or assist them'. There are also some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'stores' instead of 'stories' and 'visuals gave' instead of 'visuals give'. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to media and communication, and ensure that your word choices are contextually accurate and collocate naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('TV and newspapers stores are often comes') and tense inconsistencies ('visuals gave a more clear view'). Sentence structures are relatively simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often contain errors, such as 'people believe in those things more which they saw'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some missing capital letters at the start of sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like subject-verb agreement and verb tense.
