Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this era, news that come on the either TV or newspaper plays a significant role in every bodies life because nowadays, everyday something happens somewhere and people really like to read or see the latest news. To make it more interesting, news reports or news channels place the pictures along the summaries of the news stories. So, some part of society strongly believe that pictures tell more about incident and the thoery while, some disagree with that. In this article, i will discuss both the points of view.
Some people are in favour that the pictures do not show the exact scenario of the incident which is publish in newspaper or the pictures which they are showing digitally. One of main reason is that by just looking at the picture we might can misjudge it, which further can leads to spread of wrong information because everyone in hurry
and in short of time so they do not want to gain full knowledge.
However, on the other side, good amount of society supports that pictures are vital in news stories as it help them to understand what exactly happened at the place of incident. Moreover, it attracts the attention of the audience because if they are passing by the TV or turning the pages of newspaper and they find the picture interesting, than they definitely want to know more about it. So, capture of moment is really effective and necessary.
In conclusion, it is very tough to fully supports one side but having a picture along the information took my personal supports because people can see what happen over there . In addition, it gain more audience towards the news

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both sides of the argument regarding the effectiveness of pictures in news. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that pictures can lead to misjudgment or attract audience attention, these points are not fully extended with concrete examples or deeper analysis. The position is clear, but the conclusion is slightly repetitive and lacks a strong summary of the main arguments. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a more detailed explanation or a specific real-world example to support your claims, which would help in achieving a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'However', 'Moreover', and 'In addition' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing and some mechanical use of transitions. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'the theory' in the introduction, which does not clearly relate to the preceding context. Improving the variety of cohesive devices and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next will enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'incident', 'scenario', and 'digitally'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors, such as 'every bodies life' (everybody's life) and 'in short of time' (short of time). The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and there is a reliance on basic phrasing. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise collocations and a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary related to media and journalism.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('news that come', 'pictures... is publish'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms ('might can misjudge', 'it gain more audience'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
